  • Health and Safety Policy

    Overall responsibility for health and safety rests with our Managing Director, Richard Kimpton

    Our policy and arrangements for workplace health and safety are designed to help us to comply with our legal, moral and economic obligations to ensure the health, safety and welfare of our operatives and others who may be affected by our work activities and we will:

    • Demonstrate leadership in maintaining high standards of health and safety at work and provide adequate resources to do so
    • Consult with our employees and sub-contractors on issues that concern their health and safety
    • Control the risks to health and safety in our work activities
    • Define roles and responsibilities for health and safety within job descriptions or profiles
    • Provide adequate information, instruction, training and supervision for our employees and sub-contractors
    • Ensure that our employees and sub-contractors are competent to perform their tasks
    • Provide and maintain safe plant and equipment and provide and maintain safe systems of work
    • Ensure the safe handling, use, storage and transportation of equipment and substances
    • Work with and encourage employees and sub-contractors to help us to prevent accidents and work-related ill health
    • Arrange hazard identification and risk assessments with the help of employees and sub-contractors and inform affected people of hazards and risk controls
    • Identify occupational health hazards, advise employees and sub-contractors of health risk controls and check for ill health as necessary
    • Maintain safe and healthy working conditions and set targets for improvement
    • Provide safe means of access and egress to and from places of work
    • Make sure that appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is used as necessary
    • Advise employees and sub-contractors of any changes in business activities that may affect health and safety
    • Get accidents, incidents and near misses reported and then investigate them to find causes and identify corrective and preventive actions that are needed to prevent recurrence
    • Report notifiable workplace health and safety matters to the Health and Safety Executive (HSE)
    • Strive to continually improve our health and safety performance
    • Review and report on our health and safety performance against published objectives and targets
    • Review and revise this policy as necessary at regular intervals

    This policy has immediate effect and replaces all previous versions.
