Liverpool Hope University Re-appointment

220px-Liverpool_Hope_University_ChrestAfter ten years working together already completed, Kimpton have been reappointed by Liverpool Hope University for a further three years to continue the ongoing maintenance of all of the HVAC plant and water hygiene management systems throughout their sites. They also have the option for a further extension of up to two years subject to performance.

For the Planned and Preventative Maintenance team at Kimpton, it’s more good news on the back of recent high profile wins.

Colin Swanick, Service Director at Kimpton was delighted with the news.

“Working incredibly closely with the Estates team our excellent working relationship has allowed us to jointly develop a streamlined, planned maintenance regime. By evaluating the planned maintenance requirement for all items of equipment, including BMS, we proposed a revised programme that would provide adequate planned maintenance to the equipment, without compromising the reliability and efficiency. This provided a substantial cost reduction.”

Liverpool Hope University can trace its roots in the city back to 1844 as Saint Katherine’s and the Sisters of Notre Dame’s Our Lady’s Training College in 1856. It now has three faculties: Arts and Humanities, Education, and Science, which are organised into 19 departments. The university is spread over two campuses – the main Hope Park Campus in Childwall and the Creative Campus close by in Everton, around 15 mins walk to the city centre. The contract also covers the University accommodation based in Aigburth.

Our ‘site delivery model’ which has been successfully developed with the University has been managed by Rob Brine – a Key Account Manager at Kimpton. Excellent communication between Rob and the Estates team has been instrumental in the success. Rob is delighted after his three previous years efforts were rewarded with the reappointment.

“It does show that if you work hard and make sure you’re consistently doing what you have promised your clients, it will get noticed. There’s always a risk when it comes to a tender that however hard you’ve worked over previous years, someone will come in with an unsustainable, crazy price that the client has to consider. Thankfully, this time, our track record AND keen pricing has seen us through. Now we’ve got to keep the pressure up to keep delivering and innovating to retain the contract again in the future.”
