Last week 10 of the Kimpton Team completed the two-day Mental Health First Aid England accredited training course to become Mental Health First Aiders!
Back in 2022, we engaged with experienced local MHFA trainer Sean Liddell to run a series of Mental Health Resilience Workshops. 20 members of our management team completed a mental health awareness workshop and we trained eight Mental Health First Aiders and two Suicide First Aiders across the Kimpton Team. The feedback was so positive that we invited Sean back to deliver the course to more of the team, so that there will always be someone available to provide support and help when needed.
However much we are diversifying our team, we recognise that we have a majority male workforce and suicide is the biggest killer of men under 45 – with the Construction industry statistics being three times the national average.
As an organisation, we are committed to ensuring we keep our staff safe and healthy. We are working to reduce the stigma around mental health and encourage it to be openly discussed and supported within the workplace.
