We understand that if our industry is going to recruit enough engineers to deliver the UK’s net zero targets, we need to play our part in attracting talent from all parts of society. Women are particularly under-represented in our industry, so we are working with schools, colleges and Careers Hubs, across the Liverpool City Region to encourage more young women to consider a career in construction.
So, we’re proud to be involved with the new campaign ‘Not Just Men and Muddy Boots’. It’s been created by the Save Construction Initiative, to help attract younger, more diverse talent to consider the 186+ roles available within the construction sector.
The campaign revolves around a film, which includes a few snippets from our own company video, and is fronted by Jacob Pasquill. He’s a young Tik Tok influencer, with over 1.7 billion views of his channel, who has volunteered for the role.
It has also been backed by many north west construction and allied businesses, along with three of the north west’s most prominent figureheads. These include Salford’s Mayor Paul Dennett, Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham and the Liverpool City Region Mayor, Steve Rotheram.
