University of Chester’s commercial gas maintenance contract award

We’re happy as Larry (and fast running out of superlatives) to announce that we’ve been awarded the University of Chester’s Gas maintenance contract.

The service covers planned maintenance and 24/365 breakdown cover for almost 250 gas boilers and water heaters across the University’s seven campuses and multiple student accommodation properties throughout Chester. The contract will run for a minimum of 3 years with potentially two 1-year extensions.

Our experience in the region covers a huge range of sectors stretching back over 60 years and includes clients such as Chester Cathedral, The Countess of Chester Hospital, Carden Park Hotel, Rowton Hall Hotel and Spa, Iceland Foods, Airbus, Tata Group and UKRI at Daresbury Laboratory, to name a few.

This award builds on our strength and experience delivering HVAC services in the Higher Education sector with 30 years experience at The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA), 25 years at Liverpool John Moores University and 15 years experience at Liverpool Hope University.

In Further Education we deliver HVAC PPM contracts at The City of Liverpool College, Warrington & Vale Royal College and St Helens College.

As a genuinely local provider, embedded and invested in the region, this means that we’ll have the engineers on the doorstep when the University of Chester need them, with the bulk of the contract team based in Ellesmere Port and Wirral.

This award, in addition to the City of Liverpool College’s Air Conditioning contract secured last month, also allows us to continue investing in local jobs and skills.

We’ll be strengthening our Service & FM team with a further two commercial gas and AC Engineers and an additional new Air Conditioning Apprentice.

Job descriptions and eligibility criteria for the apprenticeship vacancy are already on our website, which you can see here.

We work hard to ensure that we employ locally and provide long-term, sustainable employment opportunities that support education, wellbeing and inclusion. If that sounds like your future and you share our values, we’d love to have you on board!
