On Saturday 18th November 2023, almost 60 years to the day after the business was formed, the Kimpton team and their partners celebrated together, in a spectacular black tie dinner, at Carden Park Hotel and Spa in Cheshire.
164 people, including every one of the apprentices came together to look back over some the business successes over the years, toast absent friends and share some of the plans for the future.
Richard Kimpton, thanked the team and shared some of the highlights of his 30+ years leading the business. The original founder Eric Kimpton and his wife Pam, were also there as guests of honour.
There was a major focus on the apprentices past and present. With 12 currently in training and even more planned for the future, they were joined on stage by the near 20+ team members who had completed the long established apprenticeship and training programmes and are still part of the team today.
There was a celebration of the increasing diversity of the team. Grace Roberts, Kimpton’s first fully qualified female engineer and Linzi Kelly, Kimpton’s Financial Controller were just two of those toasted.
The future for Kimpton will be built around the team that are undertaking or completing their training and will be managed by many who have already completed it. The order book is as healthy as it’s ever been and the type of work will allow the business many years of expansion and solid, high skilled work.
Training and development has always been at the core of the Kimpton business ethos. The whole night was a celebration of this and a confirmation that it’s the key to our success and a core part of our bright future.
Overall, it was a fabulous night of celebration, a look towards an exciting future, by building on a long and stable past and a great fun night together, in some beautiful surroundings (which the Kimpton Maintenance Team still maintain)
