There’s been a major change in the way wholesalers of HVAC spares work. Until relatively recently, most used to hold a range of spares for almost any make or model of chiller, boiler or air conditioning.
But, in these more challenging times for business, they have reduced the breadth and depth of spares they hold. Stock on the shelves is seen as dead money.
What this means for us, as HVAC Service and Maintenance engineers, is that when we get to site to repair a system that has broken down, there can be a delay in the parts required arriving for up to three weeks. In some settings, this is okay and you may be able to live without working heating or air conditioning. For many however, the need to keep somewhere warm or cool is mission critical.
What our team of Kimpton engineers are now offering, as part of our PPM service, is to identify which are the critical spares. Using the experience and expertise of the team, we can identify which spares are the most likely to be required in the future. These can be PCB’s, fans or seals, but without them a system can’t run.
The main benefit is that you can be up and running without the potential for a three week wait when your system does go down. There’s a second benefit and saving too, in that it removes the need for a return site visit to fit the required parts, when they do arrive.
It’s another benefit of a Kimpton PPM Contract. You’re not just buying the peace of mind of regular service and maintenance, but the benefit of a proactive approach to protecting you in the future.
