Kimpton provide the design, supply and installation of mechanical and electrical services to the purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) and Build to Rent (BTR) buildings across the UK.
The mechanical services are normally now delivered via heat pumps – a new technology for many, but one Kimpton have been involved with since the 1970’s, in our work with Walkers Crisps.
Kimpton also deliver the full range of electrical services including all power and lighting services, fire alarm, access control and CCTV. In many cases now, the heating to the room is provided with electric panel heaters instead of a traditional wet heating system.
Our Managing Director, Richard Kimpton, wrote a piece about how we are seeing more work coming now from refurbishment within the Student Accommodation market. in it, he concluded that for the future of student accommodation to remain sustainable as a business, energy costs would have to be reduced. This meant that it is as important to keep the plant room up to date as the decor.
Kimpton has completed many high profile PBSA – student accommodation and Build to Rent (BTR) projects over many years across the UK. In total we have completed nearly 15,000 beds across over 30 completed schemes.
This is a summary of some of the bigger projects the Kimpton team have completed and that are currently under construction.
