If you know any school leavers interested in Engineering and Renewables as a future career, we’re recruiting for two or three young people to join Kimpton on an Industry Placement, while studying T Levels in Building Services Engineering.
T levels are a new technical qualification introduced as a more practical alternative to BTECs. They are aimed at enhancing technical education and offer a two-year course with a mix of classroom learning and work-based training. We’ll be supporting local colleges such as Wirral Met College or The City of Liverpool College to deliver the work-based element of the syllabus when students spend one day per week learning on the job with an employer.
T levels are equivalent to three A-levels, designed for learners aged 16 to 19, and offer a pathway into many highly skilled professions. They can be used to go to university with Liverpool John Moores accepting T Levels as an entry qualification for the Building Services Engineering Degree.
The qualifications aim to bridge the skills shortage, meet industry demands, and offer students a more practical, relevant and interesting route to employment or higher education.
We see T Levels as a great pathway for our local young people into a Degree Apprenticeship and a rewarding career as a Building Services Engineer on the front line in the race to deliver net zero.
Minimum academic requirements are 5 GCSEs at grade 4 including Maths.
