It’s been a very busy few weeks for the Kimpton Commercial fit-out team working at Make CIC’s new HQ on Argyle street in Birkenhead and the finish line is now in sight.
The open plan spaces are built, the doors are in, lots of the painting has been done and the electrics are being finalised across three floors.
Liam Kelly, Chief Executive Officer of Make CIC has been keeping followers updated on the official TikTok channel throughout the build and the progress you can see in this update is amazing.
The project will be completed in phases and this first phase will include the ground floor cafe and education spaces, with studios and art spaces on the first and second floors. Phase two will finalise the top floor studios, basement studios with making space, and the key areas of impact with an eco-education room and growing space on the roof.
There’s a real sustainability focus for the project, with many of the materials and furniture donated by Kimpton and our partners and almost all of the work carried out by local suppliers. The new space will be an excellent and amazingly functional hub for creativity and community engagement.
There’s just a few more weeks left to go and we will show you the finished project.
The team were very pleased to get a visit from the newly re-elected MP for Birkenhead, Alison McGovern. As minister for Employment, she understand how important initiatives like this are, so to have her support for the Make CIC project is great news for all of us.
