Groundworks and civils to support MEP and refurbishment projects across Liverpool, Wirral, North Wales and the North West.
When we take on an MEP installation or a refurbishment, clients often ask us to handle the civils that enable that work too. It’s a natural extension of what we already do: the groundworks, breakouts and structural preparation that need to happen before mechanical, electrical or fit-out teams can get started.
For the client, this means one point of contact and one team managing the project, the timescales and the quality of the work throughout, from the first work on site to final commissioning and handover.
Civils work is often treated as a separate trade, brought in late and coordinated at arm’s length from the rest of a project. We take a different approach. Our civils capability sits alongside our mechanical, electrical and fit-out teams, so groundworks are planned as part of the same programme from day one rather than bolted on afterwards. That’s proved particularly valuable on live sites and occupied buildings, where poor sequencing between trades causes the most disruption and cost. It also means fewer handover gaps: the same project manager who scopes the civils understands exactly what the MEP or refurbishment work needs to follow it, and plans accordingly.
– Groundworks and excavation for new plant, drainage or services
– Concrete bases and plinths for plant, generators and switchgear
– Cable and pipe route trenching, ducting and reinstatement
– Breakout and demolition to prepare for new installations
– Coring and forming structural openings for services
– Drainage installation, alteration and repair
– External hardstanding, kerbing and paving
– Access ramps and level changes
Making good and reinstatement once services are in
Whether it’s a single trench for a new supply or full groundworks ahead of a refurbishment, we plan the civils around the MEP programme so nothing holds up the work that follows.
