MEP fit-out for hotels

Hotel guests only notice building services when something goes wrong: a cold shower, a stuffy room, an air conditioning unit that won’t switch off.

Getting the mechanical, electrical and plumbing fit-out right the first time protects a hotel’s reputation as much as its running costs, and increasingly its compliance position too, with EN378 refrigerant regulations, Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards and decarbonisation targets all adding pressure onto plant that has to work quietly for decades.

Kimpton has been delivering MEP fit-out since 1963, and hotels have a lot in common with the build to rent and student accommodation schemes we work on every day: dense room counts, heavy, time-specific demand for domestic hot water, life-safety systems throughout, and a fit-out that has to be right before doors open, because there’s no snagging list once a guest has checked in. We bring heating, ventilation, hot water, fire protection and electrical systems together as one coordinated package, specified with serviceability built in from day one, since it can often be our own Service and FM team keeping it running afterwards.

That crossover experience already includes hotel fit-out, such as the Hampton by Hilton delivered as part of our £5m Telford Station Quarter scheme, installed alongside the residential apartments on the same site. It sits on top of decades of hands-on knowledge of how hotel building services perform in use, from maintaining HVAC across Novotel Paddington Village’s 221 bedrooms and the Radisson Blu Liverpool’s 194 rooms and spa, to a full boiler replacement at the 801-room Tower Hotel in London and the £10m Carden Park Spa in Cheshire. Few fit-out contractors bring that depth of sector insight to a new build.

If you’re planning the MEP fit-out for a hotel, new build or refurbishment, we’d like to talk about it. Call the Kimpton team on 0151 343 1963 or email website@kimpton.co.uk.
