Kimpton Highly Commended at National ACR & Heat Pump Awards 2016

As one of the North Wests leading building and environmental services companies, we are proud to announce that following extensive deliberation by the judges Kimpton has been highly commended at the National ACR &Heat Pump Awards which took place at the Town Hall in Birmingham on the 28th January 2016.

Kimpton scooped the commendation in the Non-Domestic Ground Source Project category will over 300 people from the heat pump, air conditioning, refrigeration and ventilation industry gathered for the prestigious ward ceremony

The project was delivered on the behalf of The National Trust and provided the complete design and installation for the first commercial Marine Source Heat Pump to be installed in the UK.

Providing 300kW of heat energy to serve the Plas Newydd Country House Estate, we were responsible for installing the pipework to extract the marine water from the Menai Strait, which is pumped 30metres up the cliff face to the heat pumps located in the estates plant room within the Stable Block. Pre-insulated pipes then carry the generated heat 100m to the Country House itself where it is used to heat the building and provide domestic hot water. This ground breaking project has helped to save the Trust £70,000 per annum by not consuming 138,000 litres of oil per year.

Considering the scale of the project, everything went remarkably smoothly.”
