Perhaps we’ve kept it secret for too long, but we’re proud to say that at Kimpton, we’re experienced Electricians.
We can look back over our history and see where our real strength lies. There’s no doubt that our sweet spot is in HVAC – we’ve lived and breathed it for ALL of our 50 years experience. We installed our first air conditioning systems in the 1960’s, when the business started trading as E.A. Kimpton and Company Ltd. Since then, the breadth of our offering has increased dramatically and we offer a much wider range of services to clients across the North West and the UK.
Much of this desire to do more, comes back to our original philosophy, which has always been and will continue to be “gain a customer, keep the customer”. To meet this demand for more services, in 1973 we opened our own in-house Service and Maintenance Division which has continued to be a great success for Kimpton. In many cases, we installed systems over 20 years ago and have maintained them ever since. What’s even better is that today, we are still busy replacing the oldest of those systems, with modern, energy-efficient technology.
One service we rarely shout about, but have always offered, is our small electrical works. Boilers, pumps and air conditioning units all require electrical supplies to feed them, along with controls to manage their running. Our in-house electrical team have always provided this service, whether simply connecting individual items of plant or full boiler rooms.
Being part of the service and maintenance team, our electrical engineers have successfully developed into electrical maintenance engineers, carrying out planned maintenance to emergency lighting systems, fire alarm systems, intruder alarm systems and door entry systems. These capabilities, along with fixed wiring testing and EICR Reports, all complement our mechanical maintenance capabilities to provide a full M&E maintenance package.
Because of the years of work within maintenance, we’ve also built up skills in more general electrical work. Much of this is wiring in commercial settings. It could be creating a whole new electrical system for a retail outlet or it could be CAT5 extensions for offices and semi-industrial settings.
The link between mechanical services and electrical services is growing ever closer. Any modern heating and ventilation system will have some form of electrical controller, whether it’s a simple timeswitch or a full Building Management System. So, much of our electrical work is in these controls, whether installing, testing or upgrading.
Overall, our team of maintenance electricians have the skills and the experience to deliver almost any small to medium mechanical and electrical project. We’re local, we know our stuff and we’re NICEIC and Gas Safe qualified.
