The Client

Brookfield Park Primary School is located in Skelmersdale, Lancashire.

The Challenge

As part of a major refurbishment and extension programme to the school, Kimpton were contracted to install the mechanical services during term time therefore the scheduling of works and health and safety practices were of paramount importance.

The Solution

In a partnering arrangement with Conlon Construction and Lancashire County Council, Kimpton installed new heating, ventilation and plumbing throughout the school including the classrooms, sports hall and kitchen facilities. The project included Passive Ventilation (PV) whereby there are no manual control mechanisms and the airflow responds to temperature differences making the system self-regulating – this will optimise conditions within the classrooms with the objective of improving learning capabilities.
