Daresbury Laboratory Minor Works Contract Award

Our Turnkey team has been growing strongly over recent years with work across the Liverpool City region. This has included full floor office fit outs at the Capital Building, a whole range of projects at the M&S Bank Arena and the fit out of the new Stem Cell Laboratory fit-out at Biograd.

To add to this client list, we have now been awarded a place on the minor works framework by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) – Science and Technology Facilities Council, STFC, covering the Daresbury Labs site.

We were already an FM partner looking after HVAC throughout the site but this award now adds the ability to deliver more complete projects, so we can genuinely take projects from inception to full commercial fit out, turnkey solutions.

The works vary in scope and value up to around £650k per project, from minor small works such as decoration, flooring etc. to extensions, building fabric repairs, laboratory fit outs, office fit out projects. We may be asked to deliver mechanical, electrical (including high voltage) and civil engineering projects at any given time.

This plays right to the strengths of the Turnkey Division at Kimpton. With a team that now includes well over 100 full time staff based out of our Bromborough Head Office. They have a huge range of skills at hand, which can be drawn upon as needed.

Daresbury Laboratory, which opened in 1962 in Halton, Cheshire is a world leader in scientific research in areas as diverse as nuclear physics and supercomputing.

There are over 300 staff on site, working across 20+ plus individual buildings with purpose-built lab and office spaces, designed specifically with high-level research in mind.

We’re looking forward to getting even more immersed in life at Daresbury and we will share some of the jobs as they are completed and where security allows us to do so.
