Client: ACC Arena
Project: Hard FM Contract
Project Scope: Hard FM
Project Manager: Andy Morgan
Having won the Hard FM Contract, our role will to be review all of the existing heating and cooling systems and look to make improvements in line with their own carbon reduction strategy. We will aim to ensure flawless delivery of all services during our contracted period.
As part of the contract appointment, we are undertaking a thorough review of all the heating and cooling systems to support The ACC Liverpool Group’s carbon reduction plan, that will reduce Co2 impact and ongoing running costs.
One of the first areas for investigation is the fan coils for the chillers that cool the air in the performance spaces.
We’re also starting surveying on the building’s suitability for a Transpired Solar Collector (TSC). The south facing aspect of Exhibition Centre Liverpool makes it a perfect candidate for fitting a TSC system to the building, with the potential to reduce running costs.
Andy Morgan from Kimpton said. “Even when we did our initial walk around the site, it was clear that the fan coils were showing signs of corrosion. I believed this was due to them not being correctly coated with Blygold or similar, to give them the additional protection they need to work in a marine environment. We have seen this a lot over the years and correcting this will have an immediate impact as the chillers will run as they should.”
