TJ Morris, owners of Home Bargains, have expanded on their site at Axis Business Park in Gillmoss, Liverpool, as their own business has grown.
TJ Morris Ltd, which trades as Home Bargains, was established in 1976 by Tom Morris. Since opening the first store in Liverpool, the business has grown organically to become one of the biggest privately owned companies in the UK, the largest employer on Merseyside with 22,000 staff and the largest independent grocer in the country with over 500 stores.
This project is to create a new extension to house a staff canteen along with a changing and welfare area for those who work on the site.
The two storey modular building has been designed to house all of the changing and meeting spaces on the ground floor and the canteen and kitchen space on the first floor. There’s even an 89sgm outdoor dining terrace provided too.
Our role is to deliver the full mechanical services installation to the new extension that includes offices, kitchen and servery area as well additional staff changing areas.
On the mechanical side it’s every bit as wide reaching covering heating, cooling, hot and cold water provision and ventilation, which includes a commercial kitchen area. In addition, there is work to provide for drainage, fire fighting systems, plumbing for toilets and showers, all of the ductwork and insulation throughout.
The project will be completed by July 2023 and we will update as the work progresses.
