Kimpton were employed by Kier Northern to design and install the mechanical services for this new community fire station which is one of the most energy efficient fire stations in the country.
The heating system comprises solar thermal panels to generate hot water which is supported by a highly efficient condensing boiler.
Ventilation is provided by means of Natural Ventilation which in certain rooms is complimented with Lossnay heat recovery units to provide pre-conditioned fresh air
Rainwater harvesting is used to supply grey water for the flushing of toilets and filling the fire tenders for fighting fires.
