New Park Primary School is an institution for children who have been taken out of mainstream education and need additional support. Kimpton secured this contract following an enquiry to the Small Works side of the business, through our relationship with SPIE. Kimpton had to ensure they could guarantee to complete the works within the schools six week summer holiday, as due to the nature of the school they did not want any contractors on site while children were there.
The Project involved taking out two existing hot water cylinders, modifying pipework, electrical disconnection and removal of waste from the site. Following on from this, we installed new hot water cylinders to replace old ones, along with the new heating pipework, pumps and controls to manage the system. We also completed control modifications to the panel, after which full testing and commissioning of the new system was completed along with associated snagging repairs.
Whilst the scope of works constituted a relatively small job in terms of the usual project works we undertake, as a company we feel that it is important to support the works our Servicing and Maintenance department already completed for the client.
Our relationships with the suppliers ensured that we were able to book in delivery of the major items well in advance given the restrictive timetable for the completion of works.
This was a perfectly planned and executed contract, particularly given the tight and non-negotiable timescales involved. The works schedule was adhered to right throughout the contract with some minor delays due to parts and materials deliveries to site. The feedback we received from SPIE following the contract was entirely positive.
