The Client: National Grid
Customer: Morgan Sindall
Service: Acoustic Enclosure
Project Completion: February 2013
Kimpton Energy Solutions were employed by Morgan Sindall to assist them in meeting the noise emissions criteria set out in the planning permission for the replacement transformer.
A noise impact assessment determined that an insertion loss of 20dB @ 100Hz was required for the new transformer to alleviate the potential noise disturbance to local residents.
Kimpton Acoustics designed, manufactured and erected a new acoustic enclosure. As this is a live site and the new transformer was a replacement the enclosure had to be erected within a 2 week period. Along with housing the transformer the new enclosure had to accommodate a deluge system in the case of fire.
The installation will improve the comfort conditions in several areas of the school servicing both pupils and staff. We are very experienced in undertaking projects in these conditions were flexibility and careful scheduling is key and this was crucial to our appointment on this contract.
